Leadership academy births in Benin

Benin, Edo — A new educational institution aimed at expanding the frontiers of qualitative and affordable education was on Saturday July 27, 2024, formally opened in Benin City, Edo state, Nigeria.
Christened Lebarty American Leadership Academy, the establishment of the school is premised on the philosophy that "good education is the foundation of a better future" and also, 'an investment in knowledge pays the best interest".
At the brief but impressive ceremony to herald the birth of the school, its proprietor, Mr Okefe Aigbe Lebarty, said the school ensconced in rural Idumwowina community in the outskirt of Benin City, is his family's modest way of giving back to Edo state, the land of their birth.
He said every member of the Aigbe Lebarty family contributed in one way or the other to make the vision of establishing the school a reality.
"The fact that we are all gathered here together is a testament of the unity in the family" he said.
Mr Okefe said the school would seek to inculcate the virtues of leadership and academic excellence in the students while providing conducive learning environment.
"The Aigbe Lebarty Foundation will partner strongly with the Lebarty American Leadership Academy by providing scholarship grants to indigent students. We also intend to link the school with some notable schools in the United States of American for durable academic and staff exchange programmes. This is one the facilities that sets the Lebarty American Leadership apart from other schools here in Edo state" , the proprietor stated.
The royal father at the event, Chief Henry Osato Bazuaye, the Aiwerioghene of Benin Kingdom said the establishment of the school is a noble venture worthy of commendation.
He urged the school's authorities to strive to maintain high academic standards and expose those qualities that make America the leader of the free world.
The grand opening ceremony was spiced with music by a. 20-man orchestra band from Lagos and an Edo cultural dance group.
High point of the event was the cutting of the ceremonial tape by a representative of Edo State Deputy Governor and a walk your of the facilities in the school.
