Two persons identified as Eghe Kennedy Ehigiator popularly known as Schoolboy and his friend, Emmanuel Owie, also called Emma Sexy, were gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen early hour of 10th July 2023 at about 10.30hrs at Ukhunmwun road junction, Lagos-Benin express way, Benin City , Edo State of Nigeria.

The two victims were on their way to inspect ongoing house projects in the area when the assassins struck without any altercation that moment.

Speaking to Journalists to give detailed account of what transpired, one Ifaluyi Jimoh, the elder brother of same mother but different father to Eghe Kennedy Ehigiator, said that on the fateful day, his younger brother and his friend, according to eyes witnesses, were waiting at the junction to board a bike when unregistered vehicle with tinted glasses, suddenly stopped in their front and immediately, about four fierce-looking armed men on police uniforms alighted and thereafter opened gunfire on them and after which they zoomed off towards the main gate of the University of Benin, Ugbowo campus.

According to Ifaluyi Jimoh, the eye witnesses said that after the escaped of the assassins, good Samaritans who were passers-by, tried to rescue the gunshot victims to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention but they died on their way.

Ifaluyi Jimoh added that before the gruesome murder of his younger brother, Eghe Kennedy Ehigiator popularly called schoolboy and his friend, Emmanuel Owie, also called Emma Sexy, his younger brother, (Eghe Kennedy Ehigiator) had complained to his family members especially himself of possible threats to his life by one Edwin, a dead hard cultist and political thug to some renowned politicians in the state over what he (late Eghe Kennedy Ehigiator) described as an open confrontation with Edwin why he must be allowed by a popular politician to carry out assassination attempt on one Kelvin Osabuohien, whom the politician seemed to be opposing to his corrupt practises and that upon accusation and counter accusations against Edwin, it was at that point the said Edwin, threatened to kill Eghe Kennedy Ehigiator to pave the way for him to actualise his killing contract.

Ifaluyi Jimoh maintained that barely weeks after the threats, that his younger brother and his friend, were brutally killed, a killing that sparkly pointed suspicious to the open threats from the said Edwin, particularly against the backdrop of the boasting mood of Edwin who once said that if he did the havoc, that no security agencies, especially the police could unravel the circumstances since he was a die hard cultist and political thug to renowned politicians in the state.

Ifaluyi Jimoh explained that as if the brutal killing of his younger brother and his friend was not enough, his family members across Benin City metropolis, had been receiving series of threat messages that since they want to pursue the case, they all would be assassinated because unnecessary interference earned their late younger brother, Eghe Kennedy Ehigiator and his friend, Emmanuel Owie unanticipated death, insisting that his family members including himself, are now living in palpable fear of being attack especially these critical periods of insecurity which ravaged the country.
