Ika, Delta – The Delta State Police Command has begun a search for six individuals in connection with alleged sexual-related offences described by authorities as unlawful under existing state laws.

‎Police officials said the action follows what they claim is an increase in reported cases involving same-sex relationships in Agbor, located in Ika North-East Local Government Area, and Asaba, the state capital.

‎In a public notice released in Asaba, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, listed the wanted persons as Philip Kanayo, Peters Chukwuyem, Sandra Iduh, Mercy Okwuli, Jonsten Kaburu and Dr. Latif Ibrahim.

‎According to the notice, the allegations against them stem from complaints recorded at different periods between January 2022 and August 2025.

‎The command explained that the Commissioner of Police had ordered investigators to move forward with unresolved files and ensure that suspects are apprehended and arraigned where sufficient evidence exists.

‎Authorities also disclosed that ten other persons had already been taken to court in related matters, while a dedicated task team is pursuing additional suspects said to have gone into hiding after reports were filed.

‎Residents were encouraged to share credible information with law-enforcement agencies to aid the ongoing search, either at police stations within Delta State or elsewhere in the country.
