PHOTO Business/Economy Sanwo-Olu presents record ₦4.237 Trillion Lagos Budget for 2026

Ikeja, Lagos – Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday presented a proposed budget of ₦4.237 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year to the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Tagged the “Budget of Shared Prosperity,” the estimate is more than double the 2025 budget and is aimed at accelerating infrastructure development, boosting economic growth, and enhancing the welfare of residents.

The proposal comprises ₦2.185 trillion (52%) for capital expenditure and ₦2.052 trillion (48%) for recurrent expenditure.

Speaking during the presentation, Governor Sanwo-Olu said the budget is designed to make Lagos a more inclusive, secure, and prosperous megacity, building on the successes of his administration’s THEMES+ agenda.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, received the budget on behalf of the House and assured expeditious legislative action.

If approved, the 2026 budget will be the largest in Lagos State’s history.
