Benin, Edo – In a call that echoes ongoing frustrations with urban infrastructure in Nigeria's heartbeat, a 2020 social media post has resurfaced amid persistent complaints about faulty traffic signals plaguing Benin-Agbor road.

‎The post, shared by local journalist Emmanuel Ikhenebome on X (formerly Twitter), directly urged Guinness Nigeria to repair malfunctioning traffic lights at its Oregbeni branch along Agbor Road, a critical junction handling heavy truck traffic from the nearby Ramat Park axis.

‎Ikhenebome's March 27, 2020 message was straightforward and urgent: "Hello @GuinnessNGR‎, Kindly fix these faulty traffic lights installed at your branch gate at Oregbeni, along Agbor road in Benin City to prevent accident. It's key to controlling traffic from the Ramat park Axis, especially to allow trucks easy crossing into your company's yard."

‎Five years later, the problem has not been fixed adding to Benin City's broader traffic woes.

‎Guinness Nigeria has not publicly responded to Ikhenebome's specific plea, based on available records.

‎The brewery, a key employer and economic hub in Edo State, operates amid Nigeria's challenging logistics landscape, where heavy goods vehicles frequently navigate congested urban arteries.

‎Local authorities, including the Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA), have faced criticism for delayed interventions.

As Benin City continue to grapple with rapid urbanization and infrastructure strain, advocates urge public-private partnerships to prioritize fixes.
