The Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, has called on Nigerian youths to seize the opportunity presented by the Federal Government’s free registration of 250,000 business names.
The appeal was made during a courtesy visit by members of the Association of Northern Nigerian Students (ANNS) in Kaduna, where Magaji highlighted the initiative’s potential to formalize businesses and curb unemployment.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including ANNS representatives and CAC officials, who gathered to discuss the programme’s impact.
Magaji emphasized that the initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), injects approximately ₦6 billion into the economy and is poised to create 250,000 jobs, predominantly for young Nigerians.
"This is a golden opportunity for youths, especially those engaged in content creation and other ventures, to formalize their businesses and prosper," he stated.
Magaji urged the students to sensitize their peers about the programme, which aims to empower young entrepreneurs and bolster the nation’s economic growth.
The initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s broader efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), a sector critical to Nigeria’s economic diversification.
