Edo nominates three Commissioner-Designates for assembly confirmation

Benin, Edo – The Edo State Government has announced that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the nomination of three distinguished individuals as Commissioner-Designates.
The nominees—Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele, Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben, and Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, JP—will have their nominations forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation, as confirmed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the State Government.
Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele: A Policy and Development Expert.
Dr. Elizabeth Onome Ebosele brings a wealth of experience as a development economist and public policy expert. A graduate of Business Administration from the University of Benin, she has served as a Technical Adviser on Budget & National Planning at the federal level and contributed to the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021–2025) as part of the Technical Working Group on Cross-cutting Issues.
Known for her expertise in project planning, renewable energy transitions, ICT, and grassroots development, Dr. Ebosele is expected to drive evidence-based policymaking and inclusive governance in Edo State.
Hon. Christopher Okaeben: A Seasoned Legislator and Public Servant.
Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben, a former representative of Oredo West Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly (2015–2023), is a seasoned politician with a strong track record in public service.
Holding Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Banking and Finance from the University of Benin, Okaeben has served in various capacities, including Supervisory Councillor for Works & Transport in Oredo Local Government, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Employment, and Commissioner for Youth & Sports.
As a legislator, he chaired key committees on Health, Women’s Affairs, and Energy & Water Resources. A businessman and community advocate, Okaeben is poised to contribute significantly to the state’s development agenda.
Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, JP: A Respected Legislative Leader.
Rt. Hon. Festus Ebea, a former Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, represented Esan South East Constituency, where he championed grassroots development and legislative reforms.
A recipient of the traditional title Obarisiagbon of Ubiaja, Ebea is a Justice of the Peace and a political leader with over a decade of experience in Edo politics. Known for his commitment to youth empowerment and democratic processes, Ebea’s nomination underscores Governor Okpebholo’s focus on inclusive governance.
