Benin, Edo – The Edo State Government has reinstated over 2,000 workers who were recently delisted from the state payroll, reaffirming its commitment to improving workers’ welfare and ensuring job security in the state.
The announcement was made by the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa at the Government House, Benin City, following Governor Monday Okpebholo’s directive.
This decision, government said, aligned with the administration’s broader efforts to stabilise the civil service and maintain industrial harmony.
According to the Head of Service, the reinstated workers are drawn from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, including the Edo Broadcasting Service, Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, the Ministry of Justice, Urban Water Board, the Office of the Statistician General, Edo Specialist Hospital, and the Department of Educational Quality, among others.
Their reabsorption is expected to enhance service delivery and improve efficiency within the public sector workforce, he said.
