Auchi, Edo – The speaker, of Etsako West local government legislative arm, Abdul Yamah has condemned what he described as "unlawful invasion" of the legislative chambers, by thugs suspected to be loyal to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Edo state.

Yamah, in a statement on Tuesday, said the move was "premeditated" to remove the Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Council, Marvelous Zibiri.

According to Yamah, "The invasion of the Legislative Chambers represents not only a violation of the sanctity of governance but also a threat to the stability of our democratic institutions. This reprehensible act demonstrates a total disregard for the principles of transparency, accountability, and respect for due process, which form the bedrock of any legitimate democratic society.

"We will not fold our arms and watch the integrity of our legislative arm trampled upon by political desperados who have chosen violence and intimidation over dialogue and respect for the rule of law. Let it be known that the Etsako West Council Legislative Arm stands united and resolute against such barbarism, and we will utilize every lawful mechanism at our disposal to defend the integrity of our institution.

"I call on all well-meaning citizens of Etsako West, political stakeholders, and security agencies to rise and condemn this undemocratic and cowardly invasion. It is the collective responsibility of all patriots to ensure that such despicable acts do not gain a foothold in our society. We must safeguard our democracy from those who seek to destroy it through reckless and illegal actions.".
